This section is dedicated to students and teachers who are learning or teaching in the English language at the Brussels School of Engineering of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). You will find a host of tools here to help you teach or follow your content course in English.

The Brussels School of Engineering has changed the language of instruction of its Master’s programmes to English in order to cater for the demands internationalisation and international employability.

Teaching and learning in English is also known as Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), but mostly refers to primary and secondary education. For the tertiary level, Content and Language Integrated in Higher Education (CLIHE) is used to refer to any dual-focused educational context in which an additional language, thus not usually the first language of the learners or teachers involved, is used as a medium in the teaching and learning of non-language content.

The BSE has invested time and resources to unveil sound methodological and pedagogical practice in CLIHE so as to facilitate the development of teacher and student competencies and quality in teaching content in a second language. The fruit of this expertise is now available to you through various links and podcasts.
